Ayushman Bharat–Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY)

Ayushman Bharat–Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) is one of the world's largest government-funded healthcare initiatives, launched in September 2018 with the objective of providing financial protection and access to quality healthcare to eligible families.

At Uttar Pradesh University of Medical Sciences (UPUMS), Saifai, Etawah, the scheme has been successfully implemented and continuously strengthened to promote equitable, accessible and patient-centric healthcare services.

Under the leadership of the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Dr. Ajay Singh, UPUMS has continued to strengthen scheme implementation, beneficiary facilitation and healthcare service delivery.

Eligible beneficiaries are entitled to health coverage of up to ₹5,00,000 per family per year, as per applicable scheme provisions. The scheme facilitates cashless treatment for eligible medical and surgical procedures at empanelled hospitals.

The AB-PMJAY Cell at UPUMS facilitates beneficiary identification, registration, pre-authorisation, treatment coordination, discharge processing and claim management, with an emphasis on transparency, dignity and patient welfare.
