About the Department:

Paediatric Surgery deals with neonates, children and adolescents, and even unborn babies who require surgical consultation for various problems including congenital anomalies. Department of Paediatric Surgery provides surgical care in the state-of-modern art of surgical approach to Pediatric patients. Our department empowers the faculties and trainees to be efficient in fostering global competencies through advanced technology and research along with inculcating ethical value-based learning. Creativity, professionalism, passion and optimism are the core values of our Department. Nearly 30% of pediatric patients requires Paediatric surgical services for varied reasons. Following mission of the Government of India under maternal and child health to address the major causes of mortality and morbidity among children, the Department of Pediatric Surgery at UPUMS, Saifai, Etawah provides comprehensive and empathetic care to the children and neonates in the population of economically weak and rural children’s of western Uttar Pradesh of India.

Our mission and vision also include patient-centric evidence-based management together with parental education. Addressing the other concerns of parents of children with surgical conditions is another priority.
