Facilities at RHTC:

Health Education:

  • For undergraduate and Post graduate teaching & training we have field practice area comprising of three villages namely Ujhiyani and Baghuiya and Geenja where each undergraduate student has been allotted two families for family study and field training under the guidance of teaching and non-teaching staff. Family folders of each family in these two villages are regularly maintained and updated by the field staff.
  • One of the main functions of the Rural Training Health Centre is to impart Health Education to the rural population. For this purpose Health Educator, Medical social worker along with the Nursing staff give health related talks to small groups at Sub-centers and Primary Health Centers. Film shows are arranged with Audio Visual Aids for big groups. Posters, charts etc. are utilized for imparting health education.

The following health services are being provided by the Rural Training Health Centre:

  • OPD services
  • This health Institute has Indoor facility with total beds 20 in number. Routine patients are treated here while patients requiring specialized treatment are referred to the UPUMS, Saifai
  • MCH services (Immunization, prenatal and post natal cases)
  • Normal delivery cases are referred to UPUMS, Saifai for management
  • Family welfare services provided include insertion of Copper-T, distribution of pill and imparting of information related to Family Planning
  • Ultra sonography (USG) facility
  • X-Ray facility

  • Rural Training Health Centre is providing Comprehensive Health Care to the Community and Catering to population of village
  • National health programs - All the national health programs are implemented in catchment area through RTHC with the involvement of students and other Para-medical staff
  • Demographic population profile has been made on user friendly computer software for early identification and need for any health related event and services
  • The campus has residential facilities for the staff as well as the interns. There are four Type III quarters, six Type II Quarters and six Type I quarters in the campus. Type III houses have been earmarked as male and female hostels for interns
  • Kitchen staff and utensils have been provided by the Institute
  • Campus has well supplied overhead water tank to ensure 24 hour water supply
  • The campus is well fenced and the security guard is posted round the clock for providing security in the campus
  • Vehicle facility is available at the center.
  • During the year 2021, a total of 23142 cases were treated in OPD and 499 cases in IPD

Urban Training Health Centre (UHTC):

The Urban Training Health Centre Etawah is a training centre for teaching, training & research program of the undergraduate (MBBS Students) and Post graduate Students with total administrative control of the university. The centre takes care of total responsibility of health care needs of community. The UHTC functions in close cooperation and coordination with the district and state health authorities in implementing various national health programs and state public health priorities.   • The department had organized Annual Conference of Indian Association of Social & Preventive Medicine (UP & Uttarakhand Chapter) IAPSMUPUKCON-07 in year 2007. It was the first conference of this institute as well as the department.
  • Subsequently, our department had again organized Annual Conference of Indian Association of Social & Preventive Medicine (UP & Uttarakhand Chapter) IAPSMUPUKCON-17 in year 2017.
  • Workshop on “Health System Research using Quantitative & Qualitative Research Techniques” (Funded by ICMR) in 2011.
  • “Research Methodology” Workshop for Human Reproduction Research Centres (HRRCs)/Field Units of ICMR in 2012.
  • The department has successfully published Indian Journal of Community Health (IJCH), an official journal of IAPSM (UP&UK state chapter) indexed with SCOPUS and other agencies, during the year 2011-12, 2012-13 & 2013-14.
  • IDSP unit has been established in 2007 in the department and various Communicable and Non communicable diseases are being reported regularly on weekly and monthly basis.
  • The department has been a recognized training centre for in-service medical officers, staff nurses, Lab Technicians of District Hospitals for STI-RTI by UPSACS in 2009.
  • Organized workshop on “ICD-10” funded by Central Bureau of health intelligence, MoHFW, Govt. of India in 2015.
  • Organized workshop on “Data analysis using SPSS” for the faculty and residents of UPUMS, Saifai, Etawah from 22nd -23rd November, 2016.
  • Workshops on “Inferential Statistics” and “Meta-analysis” during IAPSMUPUKCON-17 in year 2017.
  • Organized seminar on “Aayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Aarogya Yojana” in 2019.
  • Conducted training of healthcare workers on “Covid-19: Care and management” in the university during 2020.
  • Regularly conduct awareness activities like health talks, rally in villages, poster presentation etc. on some of the important health related days like World Health day, World AIDS day, World breastfeeding week, International day of Yoga and others.
