All above Teaching & Training are done according to the NMC competency based cause as per
Graduate Medical Education Regulation (GMER)-2019.
For Post Graduate M.D.(Biochemistry) Students:
- Teaching & Training includes: Lectures, Group Discussions,
Microteaching,
Journal Club (Presentations of Research Papers), Seminars, Clinical case
presentation, thesis and research work and lab duties including under graduate lab,
Central lab and special investigation lab.
- Others: Rotational Postings of MD Biochemistry students in other
Department (General Medicine, Pathology, Microbiology & Paediatrics) and also impart
Lab training in the Rotational Postings of MD students of other Department
(Pathology, Microbiology and Dental ) and also provides the facilities of the lab
and instruments in the experimental work for the MD Theses of other Departments.
- Covid Duties: In control room, Flu O.P.D., Trauma triage room,
Holding area, Post Covid Ward and Covid lab during pandemic.
Patient Care & Diagnostic Faculty:

Routine Investigation: These are done in 24X7hrs Central Biochemistry Lab.
These investigations include:
- Liver function test
- Kidney function test
- Lipid profile
- Serum Electrolytes
- Blood Sugar Test
- Enzymes (Amylase, Lipase, CPK-NAC, LDH)
- CRP
- Body fluids (CSF, Ascitic, Pleural, Synovial)
Special Investigation: These tests are done in the Departmental Special
Investigation Lab. These tests include:
- Hormone analysis
- Vitamins
- Iron profile
- Tumor markers
- Other Inflammatory markers
- HbA1c
